As an e-commerce store, you can attract more visitors, generate more sales, and have a strong online presence by creating blog posts. In Zoho Commerce, you can create blog posts that are promotional, educational, entertaining, and more for your customers.
Scenario: Patricia is launching a new summer collection of products on her online store. She can create blogs to promote this newly launched collection by highlighting its necessity and benefits.
Blog Posts
Create Blogs
Here’s how you can create a blog post:
- Go to Blogs under Marketing on the left sidebar.
- Click + New. You’ll be redirected to your store’s site builder where you can enter all the necessary details.
Fields | Description |
Post URL | By default, the post url will be the title of your blog. You can change it as per your requirement. |
Category | Select a category for your blog. You can also add a new category by clicking Add New Category. |
Tags | Enter tags relevant to your blog. For instance, if you are a fashion business and the blog promotes a newly launched pair of shoes, you can add tags like shoes, hiking shoes, men’s shoes, etc. |
Turn Off Commenting | Enabling turn off commenting will restrict your visitors and customers from leaving a comment on your blog post. |
Summary | You can use this field to summarise your blog post. This will be useful for your customers after you enable the RSS feed. |
Schedule Post | Enable Schedule Post and select a date and time to publish this in the future. |
Set Cover Image | Select a cover image for your blog post. |
Publish | Click Publish post to post your blog instantly. |
Save as Draft | You can save it as a draft, make changes, and publish it anytime later. |
Edit Blogs
Here’s how you can edit a blog:
- Go to Blogs under Marketing on the left sidebar.
- Click the blog you wish to edit and make the necessary changes.
You can save it as draft or publish the blog once the changes are made.
Clone Blogs
Here’s how you can clone a blog post:
- Go to Blogs under Marketing on the left sidebar.
- Hover over the blog you wish to clone and click Clone.
Delete Blog
You can delete a blog if you no longer want it to be displayed on your store. To do so:
- Go to Blogs under Marketing on the left sidebar.
- Hover over the blog you wish to delete and click Delete.
The blog will not be deleted permanently and will be available under Trash up to 30 days after deletion. You can restore the blog post during this period.
Blog Categories
Blog categories let you categorise blogs (e.g. promotional, new releases, resources, educational, and more) based on their type. These are helpful when you have multiple blogs on your online store.
Add Category
You can add a new category and assign it to your blog post. Here’s how:
- Go to the Categories tab under Blogs.
- Click Add Category.
- Enter the details and click Save.
Fields | Description |
Category Name | Enter a name for this category. |
Category URL | The url will be auto-generated. Alternatively, you can enter a url of your choice. |
Title | The title entered here will be displayed as the page title when you share the category url externally. |
Description | Category description will be displayed wuth the title when you share the category link externally. |
Edit Blog Category
You can make changes to your blog category using Edit. To do so:
- Go to the Categories tab under Blogs.
- Hover over the category that you wish to make changes to and click Edit.
Click Save after making the necessary changes.
Delete Blog Category
Here’s how you can delete a blog category in Zoho Commerce:
- Go to the Categories tab under Blogs.
- Hover over the category that you wish to delete and click Delete.
Blog Tags
You can create and assign tags to the blogs you publish. A blog can have multiple tags, and these tags can help your customers group the blogs.
Scenario: Patricia is a fashion store owner and is launching a new pair of shoes on her online store. She wants this product to sell better, and decides to publish a blog highlighting the key features of this product. She can do so by adding tags to her blog. In this case, the tags could highlight features of the shoes, e.g. Running shoes, Waterproof, Men’s, Lightweight, and so on. Additionally, she can also use the brand as a tag. You can assign these tags to multiple blogs, after which your customers can segregate and go through the blogs based on tags.
Add Blog Tag
Here’s how you can add tags to your blog post:

Go to the Tags tab under Blogs.

Click + Add New in the top right corner.

Fill out the details on the Add Tag page and click Save.
Fields | Description |
Tag Name | Enter a tag name. |
Tag URL | The url will be auto-generated. Alternatively, you can enter a url of your choice. |
Title | The title entered here will be displayed as the page title when you share the tag url externally. |
Description | Tag description will be displayed with the title when you share the tag link externally. |
Edit Blog Tag

SEO
The SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tab under Blogs helps your blog posts rank better in search results. To ensure your blog posts are ranked better in search results:
- Go to the SEO tab under Blogs.
Fields | Description |
Title | Enter the title to be displayed in the search result. |
Description | Enter a description to be displayed under the title in the search result. |
Sitemap XML | A sitemap XML lists your website’s essential pages (in this case, all your blog urls). It helps search engines understand your website structure, thereby making it available during search results. Mark this checkbox if you want your blogs to be shown in search results. |
