contains()

Overview

The contains() function takes string and searchString as arguments. It returns True if string contains the searchString. Otherwise, it returns False .

Note: This function performs a case-sensitive search.

Return Type

  • Boolean

Syntax

<variable> = <string>.contains( <searchString> );

(OR)

variable = contains( <string>, <searchString> );

The string which may contain the searchString.

The string to be searched for, in the main string.

Product = "Zoho Creator";

check = Product.contains("Creator");    // returns true
check = Product.contains(" ");              // returns true
check = Product.contains("creator ");  // returns false
