Create Putaway
In this document you will understand how to create putaway in Zoho ERP.
To create a putaway:
Prerequisite:
- Enable the Locations feature to access the Putaways module.
- Enable the Putaways module in Settings.
- To create a putaway, items must be available in the Receiving Area of the warehouse or business location.
- Navigate to Inventory on the left sidebar.
- Go to Warehouse Operations in the top Module bar.
- Click Putaways in the dropdown.
- Click +New in the top right corner.
- Enter the required details:

| Putaway# | Enter the putaway number. To configure the numbering method: 1. Click the Gear icon in the textbox. 2. Choose one of the following options: Continue auto-generating putaway numbers * Enter the Prefix and Next Number. * Putaway numbers will be generated automatically based on this configuration. Enter Putaway Numbers Manually * Enter the putaway number manually each time you create a putaway. 3.Click Save. |
| Date | Enter the date when the putaway is created or scheduled. |
| Location Name | Select the location from which the items will be moved from the Receiving Area |
| Internal Notes | Enter additional comments or instructions related to the putaway. |
Select the item in the Item Table. To add more items, click +Add Items.
Pro Tip: Click Scan Item in the right corner of the putaway table to scan items and add
Enter the quantity you wish to transfer from the selected location’s Receiving Area in Quantity Transferred.
Click Select Bins below the quantity.
In the pop-up, select the destination Bin Location and enter the quantity of items needs to be transferred from the selected bin.
If it is a serialized item, click Select Serial Numbers.
- Select the Destination Bin from the dropdown.
- Click the Serial Numbers dropdown and select the serial numbers you wish to transfer to the destination bin.
- Click +New Row to add more bins.
If it is a batch-tracked item, click Select Batches & Bins.
- Select the Receiving Area Batch and the Destination Bin.
- A single batch can contain multiple items, which can be distributed across different destination bins. Click + Add Bin to add another destination bin for the same batch.
- Click + New Row to add additional batches.
Click Save, once done.
Click Generate Putaway.
