An indispensable feature for AR remote assistance software
Whether technicians are working on-site or service agents are out in the field, everyone keeps a few blueprints, instruction manuals, or service checklists handy for quick access to information. These documents tend to be bulky, making it a hassle to carry them everywhere.
Work Instruction is a feature in Zoho Lens that helps a user create individual workflows containing steps or instructions, which can be viewed and executed by any technician while working on an issue.
How to use Work Instruction in Zoho Lens
Create the work instruction.
Access the work instruction tab in your Zoho Lens organization portal and start creating a work instruction. Add the essential steps, mark them mandatory if needed, upload photos or videos as attachments to each step, and save it.

Start and execute it while in session.
Technicians can access all of the work instructions created in the organization and initiate any one based on the issue at hand. The steps will be visible on the screen for the customer, who can start executing the steps.

Review the execution in reports.
All data regarding executed work instructions is visible under a separate category in Reports. Admins can view the status of those work instructions, the remarks or evidence added by the customer, and other actions taken while executing them.

Track progress.
After completing each step, the customer can mark the status as pass or fail along with adding remarks or uploading images as evidence to provide extra context. Completed steps will be marked for the technician, and they can view the remarks and evidence.

Scalable and sustainable workflows for your workforce
Think of all the documentation your frontline workforce uses—standard operating procedures (SOPs), installation guides, safety checklists, and training manuals. Besides this huge paper load, it's important to ensure compliance with industry standards and track workforce performance with better visibility. Here's how you can use Work Instruction for sustainable operations and a productive workforce.
Switching to a unified knowledge hub
Work Instruction transform the way your organization handles documentation. It helps you go paperless and unify your resources in the cloud, making it a knowledge repository for the entire organization. Remote technicians can handle any issue with confidence by accessing this digital hub from anywhere at anytime.
Assembly and maintenance SOPs
Transform your standard operating procedures into work instructions for maintaining consistency across the assembly line and delivering timely maintenance.
Troubleshooting guides
Empower your customer service representatives or field technicians to solve an issue without contacting support by accessing the work instructions for that issue.
Inspection and audit checklists
Monitor the execution of complex processes and ensure the completion of each step by tailoring work instructions as checklists for the team.
Training manuals
Provide digital training manuals for your workforce through Work Instruction, allowing them to self-train while you can review their progress from the Zoho Lens portal.
Enabling quick access with a scan
When creating a work instruction, a unique QR code will be given as soon as you save it. This code can be printed and stuck on machines and equipment so that technicians who are assigned to them can scan the code and get the right set of instructions instantly.
